More Details on Our Top Picks
-
Gaiam Supportive EVA Foam Yoga Block
If you struggle to reach the floor during standing poses, this block acts like a sturdy extension of your arm. Its firm EVA foam provides the reliable base you need to hold alignment without wobbling.
The beveled edges feel comfortable against your palms, preventing that sharp digging sensation common with cheaper gear. While the foam is dense enough for heavy support, it lacks the weight of cork blocks, which some users might find slightly prone to sliding on very slick surfaces.

- Item Type:Yoga block
- Material:EVA foam
- Additional Feature:Latex-free construction
- Additional Feature:Non-slip surface
- Additional Feature:Assists with deep stretches
-
Retrospec Solana Extra Thick Yoga Mat
You will appreciate this mat if your knees or elbows ache during floor work. The one-inch thickness creates a plush barrier between you and hard surfaces, effectively absorbing impact.
It stays put on most flooring, though the extra bulk makes it feel less like a traditional mat and more like a dedicated floor pad. Keep in mind that this thickness can make balancing poses a bit trickier, as you lose that grounded connection to the floor.
- Brand:Retrospec
- Item Type:Yoga mat
- Thickness:1 inch
- Additional Feature:Moisture-resistant material
- Additional Feature:Easy to wipe clean
- Additional Feature:Includes convenient carry strap
-
Gaiam Athenian Blush Yoga Block
This block brings a touch of color to your practice while maintaining the same high-density support as the standard Gaiam model. It serves as an ideal prop for those who need a little extra height to maintain a flat back during forward folds.
The surface is tactile and grippy, which gives you confidence when your hands start to sweat. Its smaller profile makes it a great candidate for stuffing into a crowded gym bag.

- Material:EVA foam
- Count:1 block
- Additional Feature:Beveled edges for comfort
- Additional Feature:Lightweight foam construction

Amazon Basics Half-Inch Exercise Mat
If you want an affordable, no-frills option for light stretching or simple floor exercises, this mat fits the bill. The half-inch thickness offers enough padding to keep you comfortable without being overly cumbersome to transport.
The surface texture is consistent, providing a predictable grip for basic movements. Because it is quite soft, it may show indentations over time if you frequently wear shoes while exercising on it.
- Brand:Amazon Basics
- Item Type:Yoga mat
- Thickness:0.5 inch
- Dimensions:74 x 24 inches
- Additional Feature:Textured surface for grip

-
Gaiam Deep Purple Yoga Block
This deep purple block is a workhorse for anyone focusing on improving flexibility through steady, supported holds. It provides a stable height that helps you maintain proper form even when your muscles are tired.
The EVA foam is durable enough to hold its shape through years of daily use. It is a straightforward, functional piece of equipment that does exactly what you need it to do, though it won't offer the natural aesthetic appeal of wood or cork alternatives.
