More Details on Our Top Picks
-
The Toxic Avenger
You will love this movie if your tastes lean toward absurd camp and midnight cinema. It follows a weakling janitor who transforms into a mutated hero, fighting corruption in a fictional New Jersey town. Troma Entertainment built an entire brand on this exact brand of shocking independent humor.
The pacing moves fast, throwing one outrageous practical effect after another at you. Yet, the low budget limitations show clearly in almost every scene, which might frustrate viewers who prefer slick, modern CGI.

You watch an overworked single mother convince a spoiled billionaire suffering from amnesia that he is her husband. Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez deliver genuine physical comedy that keeps the narrative light.
Predictability rules the second half, offering few surprises for anyone familiar with the original film. Still, it delivers an easy weekend watch when you want zero cognitive strain.

You follow two strangers who cross paths repeatedly over seven years, slowly realizing they belong together.
